I tried a new type of OWYN Protein this weekend following my Sunday workout: Cookies and Creamless. This post will share my review of OWYN Cookies and Creamless protein shakes, and answer questions I've seen people ask online about the product.
Review of OWYN Cookies and Creamless Protein
I'll start by sharing that one of my favorite flavors of protein shakes (of any brand) is cookies and cream - or "creamless," in this instance. OWYN's variation is no exception. I really enjoyed the blend of vanilla with a hint of chocolate. Neither flavor was overbearing and the result tasted similar to a milkshake.
The other thing that's important to me whenever I try a protein drink is that the texture is never chalky. You never want to know that I'm drinking a protein shake! I sampled their smaller, 11.5oz size container and made sure to give it a firm shake before opening. Thankfully the consistency was the same from start to finish and never felt like anything had settled at the bottom.
I also appreciated the macro breakdown:
- 170 calories total
- 20 grams of protein
- 9 carbs
- 7 grams of fat
I take my workouts seriously but only lift weights for fun and to stay healthy. That means for me, my goals are centered around getting in the best shape I can and staying lean. OWYN's high amount of protein and relatively low calorie count fits perfectly with my goals.

Is OWYN a Meal Replacement?
I personally liked using OWYN as an allergy-friendly a post-workout meal replacement. My DIY meal plan for working out usually consists of a higher-carb snack ahead of a lifting session with a high protein meal afterwards - which makes OWYN Protein perfect for this step.
For this lift, I chose a newfound favorite, No Nuts! Protein Bars, as my pre-workout meal.
That combo brings the total pre and post workout count to:
- 350 calories
- 38 grams of protein
- 48 carbs
- 12 grams of fat
